OM represents the sound of the Universe and is used by Hindu and Buddhist Meditators to aid them in their search for enlightenment. From an abyss of nothingness there is uttered a divine call. It is as if the cosmic mouth opens and presses out a sweet song of creation across the void. The lotus, also used in both Hinduism and Buddhism is a symbol of purity and beauty.
