EMF Protection

What Is Dirty Electricity
and Is It In Your Home?

Most electrical pollution is invisible — but measurable. Detect and address the high-frequency interference on your wiring that standard power bars and surge protectors cannot filter.

Dirty Electricity Explained

Your home's wiring is designed to carry 60Hz alternating current. But modern devices — dimmer switches, compact fluorescent bulbs, solar inverters, variable-speed motors, and power supplies — generate high-frequency voltage spikes and surges that ride along the same wiring. This high-frequency interference is what researchers call "dirty electricity."

Unlike radio-frequency EMF from Wi-Fi or cell towers, dirty electricity travels through the electrical system itself. It can affect every outlet in your home — including in rooms with no wireless devices at all.

The First Step Is Measurement

You cannot address what you cannot measure. The STETZERiZER® Microsurge Meter was developed specifically to quantify dirty electricity levels in GS units — so you know exactly where the problem exists before taking action.

Common Sources in Canadian Homes
  • Dimmer switches and light controls
  • CFL and some LED bulbs
  • Solar panel inverters and battery systems
  • Smart meters and advanced metering infrastructure
  • Variable-speed appliance motors (HVAC, pumps)
  • Laptop and device chargers
  • Plasma televisions
  • Electrical wiring shared with neighbours (condos, apartments)

Concerns Associated with Electrical Sensitivity

A growing number of Canadians are exploring the relationship between their indoor electrical environment and their daily wellbeing. The following are commonly reported concerns among people interested in dirty electricity reduction — not medical claims.

Sleep Disruption

Difficulty Concentrating

Persistent Fatigue

Headaches

Electrical Sensitivity

General Wellness

These are concerns people report, not medical claims. Triangle Healing products are designed to support a low-EMF environment — they are not medical devices.

Measure. Locate. Reduce.

The STETZERiZER® system is built around a simple, evidence-based approach: you cannot reduce what you have not measured.

1

Measure Your Home

Plug the STETZERiZER® Microsurge Meter into outlets throughout your home. It reads the level of high-frequency interference in GS units. The recommended safe level is under 50 GS units per outlet.

2

Identify Problem Areas

High readings point to the circuits most affected — often near panels, dimmer switches, or shared walls. The meter gives you a baseline and helps you prioritize where filters are needed most.

3

Add Filters & Retest

STETZERiZER® Filters plug into standard outlets and absorb high-frequency interference. Retest with the meter after installation to confirm readings drop to safe levels. Sold in bundles for whole-home coverage.

The Professional Standard for Dirty Electricity Measurement

Developed by Dr. Martin Graham (University of California Berkeley) and Dave Stetzer, the STETZERiZER® system is used by building biologists and wellness practitioners across North America.

Who Uses Dirty Electricity Solutions

Homeowners with Smart Meters

Smart meters are a known source of high-frequency interference. Many homeowners start here after a meter installation and notice changes in how they feel at home.

Solar Panel Owners

Solar inverters can introduce significant dirty electricity into the home circuit. The meter helps confirm whether your system is affecting your wiring.

Electrically Sensitive Individuals

People who identify as electrically hypersensitive (EHS) often find that reducing dirty electricity in their primary living spaces supports their comfort at home.

Building Biologists & Practitioners

The STETZERiZER® Microsurge Meter is a standard tool in building biology assessments. Used by professionals across Canada and the US.

Apartment & Condo Residents

Shared electrical panels and wiring in multi-unit buildings mean your electricity quality is affected by your neighbours' devices — often with no control over the source.

Dirty Electricity FAQ

The STETZERiZER® system uses GS units as its measurement scale. A reading below 50 GS units is generally considered acceptable. Readings above 50 GS may warrant further investigation and potential filter installation. Many homes with modern electrical loads measure significantly above this threshold before any mitigation.
The meter is strongly recommended. Without measurement, you cannot know which circuits need the most attention, how many filters are needed, or whether the filters you install are working. The meter pays for itself in filter placement efficiency alone — rather than guessing, you target the problem areas directly and verify results.
It varies considerably based on home size, age of wiring, and the electrical devices in use. A small apartment might need 5 to 10 filters; a larger home with solar or multiple CFL circuits might need 20 or more. This is why we recommend starting with the meter — you measure first, then purchase filters based on your actual readings.
No — they are distinct forms of electromagnetic interference. Wi-Fi and cell towers emit radio-frequency (RF) radiation that travels through the air. Dirty electricity is conducted interference that travels along the electrical wiring itself. Both are within the broader EMF concern category, but they require different mitigation strategies. For RF concerns, see our Wi-Fi Protection and 5G collections.
Yes. Free shipping applies to orders over $199 across Canada (rebounders excluded). The Meter + 5 Filters and Meter + 20 Filters bundles both qualify. The Meter Only option at $182 falls below the threshold — contact us and we are happy to provide a custom shipping quote, or add filters to your order to reach the threshold.
